Netflix suffers from the same issue that has plagued content providers for a while: Fragmentation of the market through greed.
Everyone wants a slice of the pie and they all want a hefty profit margin on it, we saw it with the football rights, we saw it with F1, we are seeing it with PC gaming and now we are seeing it with streaming services.
Because of this, their price keeps going up while the amount of relevant content decreases.
These companies need to realise there is only so much money to go around and fracturing a market just makes it more expensive for us, to the point where we say enough is enough and look for alternative means of getting the content.....

They aren't haemorrhaging customers, they're just growing more slowly. Surely the most likely reasons are that what has till now been a new market (IP TV) is becoming established and thus there are less unreached customers to convert combined with increased competition from Amazon etc.
I've no idea what woke means in this context though.
They fired a high ranking employee for a series of events: using an offensive word during a meeting about... offensive words, then NOT referring to the event during a meeting with employees and then using the same word again during a meeting with HR about the use of the word.
Is it that bad for Netflix?
I sometimes sign up for bits of NowTV, Amazon is bundled with the delivery service that I actually wanted but I hardly ever watch their TV (just Mr Robot and the odd film). But I just keep Netflix going, it gets watched all the time.
Hearing of companies like Disney starting their own streaming service, they are so late to the game at this point I can't imagine how they can be deluded as to think enough people will sign up with them. That's greed and I'm sure will be punished with failure. But Netflix was the start of it all.
Getting that way. The same thing that's happening with Steam is happening to Netflix......the content creators are creating their own streaming services and then removing or delaying releases on Netflix and others.
After almost switching entirely to Netflix a couple of years ago, I am back to using Sickrage (or now even Showbox/Terranium) because it gives me everything in one place.
I'm guessing that the cost to host a show/film have increased as now they can have multiple companies bidding for the same content.

This, all this media and entertainment is way too greedy.
And how they handle the geolocation blocking, or if you buy a copy on one platform, you still have to buy on another if the first platform is no more. If I bought a copy of some movie once, I do not have to buy again. I have a license to watch it in my home.
Not to mention how they handle DVD, Bluray and now UHD versions. They push first DVDs or just BRs, and then only UHDs. Plus the special versions and other plain BS.
It is just disgusting.
But it is all OUR OWN FAULT. With our money, we are giving them reason and opportunity to be like that. Cause, so money can't control themselves and just go and watch movie premiers (without knowing if a movie is good in the first place), buying so many discs, getting on so many streaming platforms.
I canceled my Netflix, Amazon some months ago, it is also a long time I am not going to the cinema overpriced "experience".
Now, what I do, I am buying second-hand discs or just watch what's on TV (as they bring up their game thank to streaming competition).
Same for the (many) games.
The more you live, less you die. More you play, more you die. Isn't it great.
Between Disney, ESPN, NBC, Marvel & the Lucas empire they can easily succeed. All they have to do is refuse to let anyone else broadcast their stuff when current agreements end.
I'm still none the wiser to what woke is.
Wow!! I love Netflix. It actually replace my tv and cable
I totally agree, basically the complaint I've had about streaming services for a long time. It's rare that you'll find a show you're after on more than one of the services - to a point I get the exclusive content stuff but even with conventional TV, you can get Sky channels on a Virgin TV subscription as an example. And it's more than occasionally I go looking for a show which is available on *none* of the three I've used (Netflix, NowTV, Prime) - see that's where Lovefilm was actually good - they had a huge library of physical discs you could rent, and they weren't just available for a month at a time forcing you to binge-watch the lot or miss out on half of the season. I'd say more than 9 times out of 10 they'd have the film/show I wanted to rent and I could have it in a day or two on DVD or BD, and the subscription price was fairly reasonable even if half of the stuff I rented could be bought for a few quid.
Really can't say the same for streaming - TBH I'd say more than half of the stuff I search for isn't available, met with the dreaded 'Explore titles related to:' recommendations. So much for convenience over physical copies, eh? As if giving up BD quality wasn't enough...
Ah now, if Disney decide to pull content from other streaming platforms to try and push their own, I bet that'll cause them some issues with visibility of their own content. For example they may well pull content such as Marvel from Netflix, but in doing so it isn't going to get me to sign up to Disney streaming, quite the opposite of that in fact.
For certain though, they'll be onto a winner with the kids related stuff, just so parents can keep the kids quiet.
The obvious answer to the title question is: no. Netflix subs continued to grow.
This is the 'PC is dead' mentality; people just like things to die and enjoy predicting it. And sure, some things die in the end, but there's always a lot of premature discussion on that subject.
