"Last but not least, in the explainer video Mr Hallock reminds users that overclocking, or using features like Precision Boost Overdrive, will void your warranties"
lol what. For a company that likes open source this seems like a bit of a backwards policy.

What does this have to do with open source?
From what I understand this is essentially safe and automated overclocking. It's somewhat understandable that using it would void your warranty (as it's still overclocking), but to me it still feels a little like a slap in the face as it's still operating within the parameters that they consider safe enough.
EDIT: I read it again. Getting it confused with PB2. Yeah, PB Overdrive is just automated overclocking. A nice feature, but definitely still overclocking. Of course it'll void your warranty.
You have to understand there is a free-for-all going between the motherboard OEMs and the vendor. The OEMs push gimmick overclock features that come 'automatic' and you only get the vendor specific setup when you go manual on 'all' settings in bios. Fyi, that doesn't come so by default.
