I guess if anyone's got the resources to make it half decent it'll be Microsoft. I could see this working with more single player games where latency isn't such an important factor.
Good luck to them, but they will probably need it. I have seen several attempts at this type of service in the past, and even when it "works" there is usually other issues such as content, pricing etc.
I can see "the Netflix of video games" becoming a thing, but just as with Netflix, it is going to need a mix of big names, original content a fair price and great performance until this really lifts off and becomes popular enough to turn a decent profit.
Users require a 25Mbps connection, quite a hike above Microsoft’s current test base configuration.
