    I'd rather pay a small amount more and get a microsoft surface pro, or less and get a surface go...at least I know I can run EVERYTHING I need to run in a day.

    Especially as Apple's mobile chips are verging on the performance of high end x86 chips in some workloads (was recently on Anandtech's latest iPhone review). It's obvious why they're using a Celeron but just nah.

    Google and Samsung (with the Tab4) seem to think that they can compete with Apple and charge similar prices. Simple fact is that if they charge similar prices then the average joe public punter who is not a tech nerd/geek is going to go for the iPad.
    Microsoft to a degree can compete with Apple as more folk are at least aware of Windows capabilities as a work platform as well as entertainment.
    A Slate with an i5 8Gb ram 128Gb storage is £969 + £288 for the keyboard and stylus = £1257, that would buy a very decent laptop.

    No thanks. Might as well buy a Surface instead. Google is as trustworthy as a wang enlargement pill ad from china and these devices are way too expensive.
