So it seems that 2060 is on the level with 1070Ti and Vega56. The price is similar.
Would go for it if VRAM was 8Gb.
The more you live, less you die. More you play, more you die. Isn't it great.
This may seem like a silly thing to mention, but the placement of the GEFORCE RTX 2060 branding on a few of the cards released will be mostly blocked by the PCI-E power adaptors.
It really needs to be moved over so it can be seen, considering it's largely there to be seen.
My old GTX 460 SE was £95. How did the same tier triple to quadruple in price over 8 years?
That's a pretty good perf in the 2060 for that price. Much a better value proposition than the ROG Strix (ROG tax!).
And yay, a Ray Tracing performance section! Can't wait till it's more populated so people can see the difference that they're getting from card to card on those features.
I must take issue with the amazing "realism" of ray tracing as shown on that ray tracing analysis page.
It's lovely seeing all the reflections in the windows, etc but I must point out that there are multiple craters and exploded vehicles in the road just outside. THERE WOULD BE NO WINDOWS!
The 460 was never that cheap on release. I bought 2x460s back in 2011, they were £200 each. This is still a disgusting price increase (the 670, 770 and 970 was £330 ffs, and the 1070 was cheaper than this).
I really hope Intel do to Nvidia what AMD are doing to Intel. Doubtful, but a man can dream.
What would be good to compare is 4K RTX off resolution vs 1080p RTX on cause that is what have to choose from, right?

Is it weird that I just check the page titles for RT, DLSS or VRS and then skip the article if I find nothing? The only reason I read an RTX card article is to see info on these 3 topics. Otherwise, it's just a 1060/1070/1080 etc article. A main point of the article should be to highlight what you're getting for the extra cash. Charts should show the other guy with ZERO, as that is exactly what you get from the other side right? As in they don't have that feature correct? You read a hexus review and you almost think there is no difference between this and regular cards. No FF, Wolf, tests? DigitalFoundry had tests done in Dec and an in depth discussion of the features. This is almost like Metacritic pretending android games don't exist (apple kind of owns them, go figure). I don't visit metacritic much these days either Do the math.
I'm sure, but the fact remains that it was possible to pick a custom 460 board up, new, for that price. It was the tail end of production, last batch being sold off at Ebuyer at the time. I doubt that when RTX 2060 is being EOL'd you will get one for less than £200, let alone that price. Buy-in for genuine PC gaming is skyrocketing.
