Shame they went with a notch Doesn't matter what they call it, a hole in the screen still ruins the phone

I'll stick with my S9 for another year until this hole in screen madness is over.

Expensive new phones with just a little upgrade from the previous model. I'll stick too with my current phone.

We have got to the point where you don't need to keep upgrading. I got a pixel phone so I get updates for at least 3 years. Found it funny when I read about carphonewarehouse complaining that people are buying less phones and sticking to sim only contracts that make less money. I wonder if the higher prices have caused this as well. If the prices stayed lower people may be willing to get a 2 year contract. if phones keep costing more with no real innovation no wonder people don't buy them.

Yet many people are still falling into the trends of these new models. They surely got great advertising techniques.

Yes and no. I have a S8, and while the camera is good, the triple camera solutions a lot of flagships have now is very attractive. Almost justifies getting a new phone, but I'll wait until they become more affordable.

Competition among them definitely makes the price more competitive down the line.

We were at that point years ago.
I'm still using a Galaxy S5 - There's not a single common app I know of that won't run on this phone.
The Ttaskmistress is considering upgrading from her (I think) Sony Experia to an A9 or summat, so that she has a better camera than the abysmal thing she currently has, but that's the only reason.

So many people spending so much money just to have the latest and greatest model, which still only does what their current phones do, but drives the prices of new kit ever higher...
