50 percent even with dedicated hardware, jesus christ!
My thoughts as well....
Quarter of the core and you still get 50%
Old puter - still good enuff till I save some pennies!
definitely still needs some optimization.. although it does look good.. can get 50-80fps in 4k rtx ultra with dlss on...
have a question about the ray tracing and the other options though.. should we still need ambient occlusion, and screen space options and volumetric lighting on?
Been waiting a while for this update, I'm really hoping it'll look as good as the demo videos showed it to.
Glad this update is finally out - i've been waiting for this before finishing the game..and glad I did It looks beautiful with it on and the difference is very noticeable..I get around 60-70fps with my 2080 (with RTX on "high" and everything else Ultra) - the FPS does dip below 60 occasionally but its not noticeble thanks the G-Sync
Definitely needs optimisiation mind - but then we've seen that with the other initial RTX launches too, and I expect we will see another update in the coming weeks which will improve the FPS further. Still, 60FPS is the target and it hits that very well for me. Worth the wait!
Do you think so? I could barely see any differences. Shadows a bit more diffused but that's about it. Metro have done it much better with Ray Traced Global Illumination as opposed to Tomb Raider's Ray Traced Shadows.
I wasn't blown away by this, sadly.
Hopefully, as the technology matures and NVIDIA manage to streamline the calculations and add in more RT cores, we can see companies using shadows, global illumination and reflections, now that'll look good!
It's so funny watching you try so desperately to justify that GTX 1080Ti purchase just before new hardware came around that was both the same price, same performance, more energy efficient and includes Tensor/RT cores. (GTX 1080Ti vs RTX 2080)
You won't respond to any of my questions regarding it, and seem completely and utterly stuck in the mind-set of Real Time Ray Tracing being a terrible idea, right up until Crytek released their version of the DXR implementation.
So come on, what gives? Why are you so massively against RTX? Other than being miffed that you dropped upwards of £700 on old tech just before the RTX launch.
I think AMD RT will be far more easier to implement
in most games, provided the CEO's stop socking money
in their pockets and instead give priority to their
software developers. Please, greedy CEO's, put the
gaming public first.
