I'd be interested in how this compares with the Dell u4919dw and the Samsung CRG9.
As far as I can see the only one you can buy at the moment is the Dell.
"It can play Crysis"?
Actually, can Crysis play it? Does it support that resolution / aspect ratio?
Likely, there were no artificial limiters or glass ceilings to the rendering engine. It would literally say "oh you have more screen space? Cool story bro, here's a face sucking alien trying to chew your nads in glorious effects that some triple A games made a decade later still can't match".

Hi b0redom, I passed this on to Philips to see if we could get a more definitive answer regarding availability. Here's what our contact had to say: "Currently the 499P9H is only available (on preorder) from Overclockers for the first month shipment. It will be available from others from April onwards."
Hope that helps.
Hi Parm, thanks for doing that, but what is 'first month shipment'? It's almost the end of March already. Does ^ that imply that I'll be able to preorder it in April, or that's when it's shipping?
We've managed to get some clarification:
"The first 15 will probably arrive at Overclockers sometime next week.
The next 20 will go into the UK channel in mid-April.
Larger quantities are expected to arrive in the UK channel at the end of April, beginning of May."
Still no exact date as such, but at least we know the first shipment is imminent.
Nice review!
https://www.scan.co.uk/products/49-s...0cd-m2-dp-hdmi <- actually available now, with freesync - any chance of a review of that please?
Whoops my bad got that one -^
mix up with the CRG9 which also isn't currently available.....
