Holy frickin' shizzlesnacks. I have a USB spoon that I want to sell to people who buy this, plus an automatic hat and some RGB LED insoles.

So you're telling me that someone would buy this expensive and garish RAM to then not even use it in a system?

Re: G.Skill releases the Trident Z Royal Display Box

It's just a crazy expensive gift box! I mean in the world of the rich, being handed RAM as a gift and presented in this... ...would actually be very nice.

However in the normal real world where money is actually important and builders buy their own RAM, it's a stupid idea!

Re: G.Skill releases the Trident Z Royal Display Box

For the money, it should have come with a (re-purposable) USB battery bank that powers it when it's opened. That would have made it more of a presentation box, otherwise the lead going out of the wrapping paper to a power adapter would be a bit awkward.

Can't see the point of the plating in the first place, once it's installed you can't see it. But this, who has the money that they can have their ram on display and not in your PC?

The same sort of people who buy a top end Hatteras yacht, just because they want something berthed in a marina somewhere.

Haha, the RGB phase is morphing into a bling craze. What next, Louis Vuitton PC cases?

I'd rather they just started using RGB properly, with the tasteful aesthetic for which is was always intended.
