    Hmmm.

Well, my initial reaction is that it's long on htype and short on detail, which suggests it's simply a marketing response to the PS5 hype.

Second eeaction us a critical detail it-s short of is price, no doubt because it's still about 16 -18 months out.

Third rsaction is that Phil Spencer dropping strong references to "formation in the cloud" and game-streaming make me nervous.

Oh, and further down the article ..... £160 for a controller?

Not from my wallet, it ain't.

Which makes me wonder what they have in mind for the console.

Scarlett was already announced last year.
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

I think they are planning a two prong approach. Streaming with cheap hardware (maybe even old Xbox ones?) for people with decent internet access and dedicated hardware for everyone else. Makes sense really. Streaming is coming - Its still in the early netflix days but it is coming. But in the mean time if you can't use it and/or want a better experience buy a new console.

That's the elite 2 controller. I wouldn't read to much into it. The elite 1 has always been expensive. The standard controllers are £40~50...
    Trust

The elite controllers are literally like high end gaming mice and keyboards for PCs. They're there for people whom occupy the "pro gaming" bracket of the Xbox circuit.

Genuinely excited about halo infinite. Hopefully it won't turn into a massive disappointment like most AAA titles have been for the last decade or so...

I doubt their goal is to make the controllers last longer.

I disagree, when they fail under warranty which a lot of the grips do, Microsoft have to pay for postage both ways and to replace the controller. It makes complete sense for them to sort out the grips issue which is a well known issue

Apple has got parts filing JUST outside warranty down to a fine art. It's never the core product which would generate consumer resentment, it's always a charger or a superdrive or something else that has a MASSIVE margin attached to it.

Microsoft just isn't in the same class.

Bear on mind it's not just a warrsnty issue, but a consumer law matter. Just because a warranty has expired doesn't mean they're automatically off the hook.

More teased than announced, but now details are being given, just like Sony did a few weeks ago. The drip-drip is all part of their strategy, to raise edpectatoons and interest.
