Kind of worried that it won't be the modern take I expected. Though I didn't want a C&C4 kind of modernisation.

C&C 3 esque would be as far as would be acceptable to me. C&C 4 was frankly a regression both in gameplay and graphical fidelity.

No you must be mistaken, EA wouldn't do such a thing.

I hope they don't ruin the sounds or music. Some of the most iconic of their time. Wouldn't see any advantage in updating those. It would also be a disaster if the required specs were suddenly ultra modern.

I didn't mind the graphics of c&c4 too much. There are some aspects that were neat such as unit upgrades when collecting crates; and I think they probably meant well by trying to be creative with c&c, but ended up taking away what made c&c c&c. Similarly them trying to stick too their roots is a good thing here, but I do want updated graphics instead of a cleaner OpenRA which is still a valid way to play the game. Still we have yet to see what the actual game will look like, we'll see .

Another thing I wonder if whether the fresh blood will wreck my outdated gameplay. Things back then seemed more casual than nowadays, but that could also be down to a different perspective.

Give the game is being made by Petroglyph, I have full confidence this will stay faithful to the mechanics of the original CnC.

I highly suggest 8 Bit Armies (also made by Petroglyph), which feels like a CnC and is certainly a lot of fun. It'll certainly fill the wait.

They need to bring in Frank Klepacki and the Tiberian Sons!

Look them up at magfest, they're amazing!
