Nice.
LGs VRR range is 40-120Hz regardless of resolution if you have a HDMI 2.1 port
However given the bandwidth limits of HDMI 2.0 the full 40-120Hz VRR range is only available at 1080p and 1440p at 120Hz output.
At 4K 60hz the VRR range may be limited to 40-60Hz if it works at all. HDMI 2.1 is needed for 4K 120hz output.
Also only RTX 20xx cards are getting this HDMI VRR support.
LG's SM9xxx series LCD TV's have the same chipset at the OLED's so they may become G-Sync compatible too but I would avoid, owners have reported horrible inverse ghosting with VRR active on Xbox One (which supports HDMI-VRR), this is not present on the OLED's.

how much did nvidia pay for this not to be freesync?
But are the current and future consoles not AMD and so i assume freesync 2 ?
But of course if you can handle a huge TV connected to your computer, and it make sense in a gaming perspective then fine i guess.
Is this going to be chromamapped at 4:4:4 or less given it's a TV?
To be honest, if I was buying this, I'd be demanding HDR at this kind of level. I've found it makes a massive difference when done properly.
I've also found that buying lower end HDR rated stuff is baaarely worth it (if it's cheap and comes with it Vs one that doesn't, go for it but don't base a purchasing decision on low end HDR). Either do it properly or get something cheap and upgrade in a couple of years when it's cheaper.
There are a few competing standards at the moment as well so really, it's worth seeing which one wins out. My experience with HDR10 is that it's kinda meh. HDR400 also (as above).
I have a friend who has been sick for almost 12 months and been stuck in bed most of the time (several operations have only made him worse) as the tubes in his gut make ity hard to sit for any length of time. So he uses (I think it is) a 55" version LG on the wall at the end of his bed as a PC monitor to watch movies and play games.
It works quite well for gaming - after I made him a bed table for the keyboard and mouse.
