That is impressive - lot of processing going on there. It doesn’t say if it’s built into a ‘black box’ device of if it’s running on a general purpose PC architecture.

That's pretty impressive and has come at the right time for AMD.
There are many people out there on computers, that will fold trying to de / en code any worthwhile resolution of H.265
I remember trying to play 1080p H.265 on my kid sisters laptop,,,, i swear i could hear it sigh when i did that, my computer of course never had any problems handling tuff like that.
Funny thing, my father has i7 870 with GTX 680... that machine isn't able to play H.265... my mom's i3 8100T with no dedicated gfx card, same video, plays just fine.
That being said, H.265 is plain superior, but requires current hardware.
Chances are it is general purpose PC hardware, in a box that Beamr Imaging have painted black, added their branding, and re-sold for a 100% markup. (With support & warranty from them).
If I was running a TV station, I would be happy to pay Beamr Imaging's markup to get certified hardware and full support from them, even if I knew I could build a similar box myself for half the price.
