None ATM use the poor speakers in my screen, i would like a nice gaming headset, but as no one have made a game i would like to play competitive i am in no hurry.
For normal listening to music i still have my old set of Beyerdynamics i have owned since the late 80ties, but they have not been in use since 1990.
Really lately i only listen to music in the car, and that's getting pretty rare too, pretty much only in the summer time i do that, and i am no longer spending small fortunes on ICE for the car.
My current car have a cheap 2DIN head unit and the factory door speakers, no room for the 12" sub i do still have in storage.
Feeling old anyone ? :-),,,, or young for that matter.
AT M40X's. Bloodly love em, 40 quid from cex 2 years ago. Best thing is I can buy another pair from them and return these Broken if they ever do brake after standing upto the british weather (I do clean them)
Several pairs.
Serious musical use = Stax electrostatics.
General use = Sennheiser .... err, forgot the number. 580? 600?
Travelling = Shure earbuds. Again, don't remember model number. Nit cheap, but not silly expensive either. £150-ish IIRC.
Oh, and a very old pair of noise-cancellers for flying. Sennheiser IIRC, but I think a good 20 years old, maybe 25. Could do with replacing these, if I get a round tuit.
A lesson learned from PeterB about dignity in adversity, so Peter, In Memorium, "Onwards and Upwards".
I used to do most of my listening on speakers, but with acquisition of little people in my house, I do it less now. Headphones to me are a convenience to others.
My home PC I use Audio-Technica ATH-PDG1 open-backed headset. Whilst it's billed as a gaming headset, it does a fantastic job on music, and the open-backed nature gives a lovely sound and makes them very comfortable to wear.
At work I use my trusty old Sennnheiser HD212Pro closed-backed. A little bass heavy, but still crisp and well defined. The closed-back style is good for a shared office, but does get uncomfortable after a full day.
Then some Sennheiser CX 275s for the rare occasion I'm listening to music on the move.
Sennheiser HD650 at home, Bose QC35 bluetooth noise cancelling on planes - I fly long haul a lot and I wouldn't be without them!
Turtle Beach X12's as i do the majority of my music listening at my PC. They're getting on a bit now but the sound quality is still very good. If im out & about i use some basic Skullcandy earbuds.
Sennheiser HD280 Pro or when on phone the AKG branded buds that come with my S10
Old puter - still good enuff till I save some pennies!
Mixture:
Bose QC35 noise cancellers on the train commute.
Bose Soundsport ear buds or Aftershokz Titanium whilst exercising depending if I need to hear ambient noise or if I'm in the gym.
Aftershokz XTrainerz for swimming - by far the best waterproof/swimming headphones I've ever used.
Sennehiser HD 598 closed back for desktop use
KZ ZS10 Pros for mobile
Corsair HS70s for gaming
Thinking of getting the He4xx planar magnetics
Millennium (16-11-2019)
For PC gaming and watching films/TV and listening to music on the PC BeyerDynamic MMX 300, for console games Turtle Beach Stealth 600.
For general listening with the freedom to move around I use my Sony WH-1000XM2 bluetooth phones. For proper listening I use my lovely old Sennheiser HD600's fed via a Schiit Modi3 & Magni3 (also known as a Schiit Stack) which inturn plugs into the USB on my Hackintosh. Its a great combo.
