Exactly what I was thinking.
My weapon of choice has been Samsung for a long time, well, since I had OCZ drives, things have moved on a lot since then and I tend to get whichever 8x0 series Evo drive that fits the size requirements I have..

Yeah I started with a crucial (which I'll admit is still working fine just slower, touch wood), then needed more capacity when I upgraded so grabbed an 850 evo because that was deemed 'best' and dropped the crucial in as the scratch drive. A while back felt I needed more capacity and and automatically grabbed the 860evo as it's replacement and swapped the scratch drive to the old 850.

Still no real competition in the 4TB area - this seems like a solid choice in the 1-2TB range along with the others, might pick one up for a budget upgrade.

the thing about these big ssd's is what happens when you write about 600-700gb? what are the sequential speeds then? because mine is just horrible / unusable

They should add in another column into the specification comparison chart with the current drive price (on scan if need be), if you click on the review of the other drives you get the updated price.

Example the corsair mp510 is only £114.99 now different market segment being nvme, but that's currently value stick of choice.

It's not just the wrong side, it's more expensive than some M.2 drives. Mental, why would they price it so high. It needs to be sub-£100 for 1tb, and no more than £55 for 512. Otherwise there's saner SATA options, or you go M.2 if that is available to you.
