Wow, that's terrible!
For a given noise level it'd probably not be far off the Dark Rock Slim, somewhere like that?
I'll stick with my Actic Cooling 34 Esports duo thank you. Looks better , cools great and is only £35.00 UK. This had great reviews everywhere I read when I was researching for my latest Ryzen build , love it.
Corsair's pricing is getting a bit cheeky. Stay in your lane boys, you're not Razer, you actually make decent things don't start trying to gouge us.
Think there's an error on the noise graph - Asus ROG one?
Looks right to me, its just that the CPU idle and load temps are so close together, makes it look wrong but it isn't

I've got a Noctua NH-U14S cooler, I bought it instead of the H100 because of the price difference, and the promise of quiet operation. I watched a number of video reviews of air coolers before choosing this. And over 3 years in, I've not been disappointed.
And £90 seems a bit much for this, as Tunnah has said. You can get an H100i for £16 more.... seems expensive for what it offers, and it can't beat the noise performance either!

I wonder if it's just a case of the motherboard's fan profile being... suboptimal? It's entirely possible that performance would be fine with the fan running at a much lower (quieter) speed, and whereas other brands supply a lower speed fan it could just be the case that Corsair supply a higher performance fan.
For reference, even my Hyper 212 runs loud on my current board if I use any of the default fan curves - I had to manually modify the curve to keep speed lower given higher speed makes no real difference for the CPU I use.
Maybe I missed it in the article but one of the first things I look for in a cooler is its weight. As in how *little* does it weigh (for the job it does). Considering the mounting position of most coolers in a case I really don't want them to weigh too much. I'm weird that way. Which is also why I ended up buying the Dark Rock Slim for my Ryzen 3700X build. Time will tell if that was a good choice or not.
BTW, the A500 weighs just shy of 1.5 kg. Way too much for what it accomplishes.
From looking at product pages the fans spin fast, but not fast enough to explain the difference. Fan sound level scales roughly with speed to the 5th power, so the 2400 RPM corsair fans should (all things being equal) be ~4 dB louder than the 2000 RPM noctua NH-U12A - instead it's more than double that. PWM responses tend to be straight lines to make the fan control easier, so that shouldn't factor either
It seems as if this cooler would benefit from a few high-airflow/low-noise fans. But that would shoot the price up into the stratosphere and make it a terrible deal.
Why couldn't Corsair do a better job of designing this?
I really like the idea of using an Air Cooler again, and this one is appealing to me because I happen to have some great fans on my shelf already.
