Honestly, I don't like the idea of signing into my game accounts through Geforce Now. Call me paranoid but I feel a vulnerability waiting to happen there.

i guess this issue is that you might opt in, start to subscribe, then not be able to play the games you could the week before, even though you own them, and then need to opt out again and buy a new graphics card that WILL run the game.. then find they are back on the list a few weeks later when the streaming servicde signs the biggest income deal from nVidia or Strava or who ever else joins the race.

then, when one service (say Strava) gets one game, and another service (say Geforce Now) gets another game.. you need to buy both games AND subscribe to both services.

and it will still be cheaper than buying a 2080 RTX

messy isn't it? and relatively no lube available

Ah the joys of competing 'subscription' services where the 'owner' of whatever it is (we don't actually own subscription stuff) can just pull it whenever they like..... usually due to 'money' and the only people that end up being screwed over are the subscribers.

All these 'it's just £10 per month' packages soon add up

I can't blame Activision as cloud gaming is garbage and would only tarnish their products.

Sorry, I must have missed something... Why did AB pull out? Because they weren't making enough money from players streaming their games?
Or is this games installed to some cloud server and streamed to your device?

    Either way, it sounds horrible....

You do own the game with the Nvidia one. To play streamed you just log into your steam/battle.net/whatever on the Nvidia cloud machine and it pipes the game to your tablet/phone/whatever. It's only £5 for the Nvidia service too not £10.

Blizzard will have pulled out because they recon they can scam more money out of us, e.g. by only offering it on Stadia where you have to buy the game again to use there even if you already own 1 copy of it.

If you note I put the £10 within apostrophes, not to mention we all know from how netflix has gone about gradually increasing prices that the current price isn't going to stay that way when it becomes 'popular'.

I know you need to own the game first with this but at the same time it's still a subscription service to actually use it.....

I'm no lawyer but read the eula and you'll be surprised what most try to hide in there. Ultimately as it's primarily an online game blizzard can remove your ability to play at will due to banning you etc so.....

No you don't - you can use the game on your own pc, no subscription required. You have to pay to play on Nvidia's machines if you want to use them to game on, but there is no lock in with the games themselves.

I don't even think you should need any account to play a game,,,,, period.
You should just need to buy the game,,,, period.

I'm trying to work out if you're just being pedantic or are struggling to understand what is being written because it's pretty clear what my comment was in relation to.

Then re-read what you wrote. Your whole conversation is about how you don't own what you bought and they can screw you by stopping the service. This is not the case with games and geforce-now.

Sadly, yes. Quite common in part of the product's sale cycle.
