The die size is tiny, considering its 8C and a 56CU RDNA2 GPU. The CPU probably has reduced L3 cache like Renoir has,but all of this is in an SOC which is only around 100MM2 bigger than a Navi 10 GPU. The CPU is also clocked at over 3.5GHZ,so its not that lowly clocked either!

i`m curious- if that`s the case- how amd`s dog is going to please two masters.

Huh, they took a leaf from the 970 playbook. I'm surprised the CPU clocks so high, I was expecting more laptop clocks to save TDP for the GPU

Same way they pleased them with the xbone/ps4, those both had very similar silicon

AMD wins either way, they again set the standard for gaming for yet the next many years with these consoles.

2TB wasn't enough for my relatively small collection of games on current consoles, 1TB is an instant shortcoming.

Re: Microsoft reveals full specs of the Xbox Series X

I wonder how much it'll cost.

I'm thinking an equivalent PC will be less, plus it can be upgraded as and when. No subscriptions required and the games will be cheaper.

    Thank I'll pass, as always

You misspelt "opportunity to sell upgrades."

Isn't speed already covered by 'performance'?

Re: Microsoft reveals full specs of the Xbox Series X

Hopefully the backwards compatibility will force Sony to do the same rather than having to pay again for an 'enhanced edition'.

Maybe one or the other for Christmas next year

Myself personally not been interested. However I got the wife who has mobility issues a limited edition r2d2 stylee xbox360. And it has been great for her to use with very few problems. We have a gaming pc and it has been nothing but a nightmare with driver issues drm issues etc. etc. so much so that I bit the bullet and got a raspberry pi 3 for retropie, which is much much better....

So - if these consoles have decent backwards compatibility and have few issues I'm tempted...
