Thread in GD about this
https://forums.hexus.net/general-dis...would-you.html
A lesson learned from PeterB about dignity in adversity, so Peter, In Memorium, "Onwards and Upwards".
Can't as i don't have or want a 'smart' phone.
@Hexus - you're way behind the curve, we had this thread ourselves in the forums weeks ago! And no, not in any circumstance given the lack of privacy, transparency and complete incompetence of the people at the top telling us to trust them that it will 1) work as intended and 2) not be misused. That and my old nokia won't run it anyway.
Id rather have Donald Trump himself force feed me disinfectant.
For me privacy and efficacy concerns are moot as, if I install the app, I am unlikely to remember to take my phone with me anyway, when I go out.
I will consider using something based on a decentralised approach similar to Germany but from everything I've read I won't use the current UK version
No i will most certainly not, my government / country have taken more than enough from me and every other Dane.
The other guys here might be okay with that, but the little Texan living inside me are infuriated and having a really hard time.
Which is also why when work have taken me away from Denmark i have had the best times of my life.
And i dont need a app to tell who i have been near the past 2-3 weeks, that is if you dont bother about the A holes when i shop that can not keep a distance and which i constantly have to threaten with a beating if they dont back off.
Other than those idiots who i care little about, my dear old sick mother for whom i shop and get medicine once a week - maybe my one friend, and maybe my little sister.
O and my pizza pusher who i also visit once every week.
No. There is no way that this can function and be anonymous, and no way that this will not be abused.
If it was based on the D3PT standard, I'd consider it. Certainly not touching the NHSX centralised hacked together version, they can forget it.
I also have this issue, though now i dont forget my phone as often as i use to, but the instance i get somewhere the first i do is put my phone down and preferably some distance away from myself, right now i am at my computer table at home, and the phone are in the window sill some 4 M behind me.
Also aside for mobile data the only none essential thing that is installed on my phone and on are my VPN service.
Bluetooth i have not used in a phone since 2012 -2013 until BT in my car stereo died.
GPS i turn on once in a while if i need help from the phone getting anywhere, but this is rare,,,,,, and almost a haiku i believe.
wifi i turn on if there are a update for my phone.
My mother are probably gone before the years is over according to doctors, a week or so after that happen my phone will be gone too, i personally have no need for it.
not a chance
Given the very poor track record of the government in handling personal data, the half-arsed and politically self-protecting approach to the Covid19 public emergency, and the known issues with the app working or not on different handsets and the unreliable nature of Bluetooth - no way would I or any of my family use the app.
Also, as saracen999 and ik9000 pointed out, we've rehearsed this one already @Hexus!
I probably will, let's face it we've already got Google following our every move sending monthly reports of where we've been.
