I want to say this is because it's a first generation foray.
But this is being front runnered by Raja, the very man who caused the massive overhype for Vega which was a big leader into the loss of confidence into the RTG development.
And you can tell Intel isn't happy with him as all the marketing budget has been pulled, there is very little talk and no big events constantly being advertised and rammed down peoples throats.
I'm still maintaining that Raja can be a powerful force, but he needs a choke chain that gets pulled when he goes down a rabbit hole.
0.X hardware is buggy and slow, as usual
You suck at OpenCL...Oh wait...Who's using it?..Never mind...Fake news, move along. Not that I believe in Intel or anything gpu wise. Just saying...Nobody cares about OpenCL. See Cuda/NV's workstation/pro share. Nuff said.
Compared to a current 15w APU:

It's quicker, sometimes!
I do think Intel at some point can walk hard into the market, but I believe Raja is not the man for it.... also would welcome more competetion especially in the really topend GFX for the consumers... would not mind 3-4 in the market to drive down the prices... and would also teach them to bake chips with lesser waste as well.
Intel always did surprisingly well in OpenCL benchmarks. That result in almost up with a 2060 Super, which for this piddly little test card is bonkers.
I wouldn't read too much meaning into workstation market share, other than well done Nvidia on becoming the default choice when you buy a Dell workstation. I have yet to use a Quadro where a cheap GT710 wouldn't do the job just as well.
