I'm hoping this drops the X prices down a bit further in time for an upgrade.
AMD just covering that the 4000 series aren't ready yet?
I quickly checked the price of my 3900X for the inevitable buyer's remorse.
Actually, not too bad. I've had several months of being able to run three VMs at once whilst also using the host OS without any resource issues.
My i5 struggled with just the one VM whilst using the host OS.
If you can't get ahold of the X then ya this is OK, but otherwise if it's even a few quid more, it's not worth it.
Then again I think the 3800X is a weird part anyway. Why would you pay so much over the 3700X for such a tiny difference in performance.
Worth a look at the latest 7/7 video:
Not so much that they aren't ready, but that they have made a conscious decision to delay them. Sales and competition have respectively been higher and lower than anticipated.Originally Posted by [GSV
Let's hope AMD aren't going to discontinue the non-XT series, as this would be a kick in the head
for those planning to bag a bargain, and forcing the purchase of the more expensive (but without bundled cooler) XT chips.
I see nothing that makes me want to buy a new AMD mobo and CPU, instead of a 9600k @ £185
by the look of it they are overpriced
