But the cut price sales are consumer focused to clear stock, so no discounts then?
They tend to remove supply rather than discount, its hard to imagine someone buying a 2080Ti in the next few weeks/months but I guess people do.
Anyway RIP Turing probably the most expensive least performing architecture in GPU history, thanks for that Jensen feel free to make up for the lost ground in Ampere.
WHAT HIGH DEMAND FROM CRYPTO MINERS!? That's just bull crap, there is no high demand from crypto miners for the RTX 2000 series.
If you calculate anyone of the RTX2000 cards it takes approx 1000 days to just break even from the cost of the graphic card.
Don't know what fantasy Jensen got in his head but no crypto miners in their right head would invest in RTX 2000 series.
Back in 2017/2018 Jensen lied his ass off saying their sales of GFX cards was almost all to games at a time when crypto miners vacuumed the market for gfx cards.
NOW in 2020 when interest for GFX cards from crypto miners is almost nothing Jensen says there is a high demand.
What is he playing at, is he trying to push up the prices some how with lies.

It's always the same, the media won't call him / then out on it.
Hopefully AMD eventually begin offering competition and people stop fearing being critical of Nvidias terrible business practices.

I bought my 1080 for around 400 usd and already then it was expensive enough, but somehow comparable to console quality... and is still usable on all new games in at least 2K res. This is no more consumer market where greens are headed, i once loved that company, but greed changes everything. Au revoir NVIDIA
It's bloody annoying to only see a performance increase of 10-15fps over the previous gen. Drip fed updates for maximum $$$$.
17th September eh, just before my birthday...
To be fair the only thing I'm excited about with the 30 series cards, is how much they're going to affect the 20 series cards on the second-hand market..
I don't know what to think....
If you don't like pricing, improve your lot in life. Train in a way that makes you more valuable to your company, or move to a new job that has more opportunities to move up the ladder. With all the training available on the same PC you are whining on (LOL), you could easily learn new things that improve your value to someone, thus raising your wages. Sit and wait for people to THINK you are suddenly more important and you will be looked over forever. YOU are your own problem OR solution. Simply decide which you want to be, and move on.
Heck, the entire harvard/yale etc will be online this year probably, proving there is no need to go to college to be brainwashed for 60K a year. Sit at home, and pick a cheaper/better alternative, like cisco, linux, msft, comptia etc. All have certs that take 1yr to get. This is just an example. Not the computer type? Go to a trade school, they have those online or even night courses if desired everywhere. Again, pricing going up is something you can't control, but you CAN control how you use (upgrade your life!) or waste your free time. Just don't waste time learning crap that isn't useful. Translation: No SJW stuff will make you money, but it will make you hated and eventually you'll end up in mom/dad's basement when you realize the world doesn't care what you think (ok, a few make money being influencers for now...phase IMHO, it'll pass too with so much fake crap, how many Joe rogans?), they only care what you can produce Get a new job, or start doing something to get more income sources. Stocks for instance; train in this forever and you won't need your old job at some point (make your money work FOR you, so you don't have to). You have to read quite a bit, but it is easy to win yearly if you're not greedy. I miss a lot of great trades (left NVDA early recently, heck left most early, but I can wait for the crash, guessing october surprise is a crash this year as dems try to take out trump any way they can with fear, closures, etc etc), but I don't lose on the ones I make. You don't have to be a genius to read a Q report or balance sheet etc. Tons of free info on what each term means etc.
Nuff said, educate yourself or miss out.
That kind of attitude is what enables companies to overcharge for their overpriced products in the first place. They will only ever charge what the market will bear, so as long as people change their whole lives around purely to support this, they will charge ever more money.
By doing as you suggest, you are merely dancing to the tune of your corporate puppetmasters. "Can't afford our £70 Mars Bars? Get a better job, work harder and earn more money so you can"...... or just don't buy Mars Bars until they're back down to 50p.

Phu, king, hilarious...
I remember the day when ultra highend cards cost like 4-500 USD or less for consumers... would pay that again.. and at some point even buying a sli option and feeling like could justify it...
They ran everything at max without issues.
It's going to be interesting to see the price's, looking forward to the release.
