The two-slot, 2x8pin 3090 is very interesting. Suggests that the full fat chip isn't terrible, it's just clocking high that slurps the power/heat. Interesting to see boost clocks compared to FE.

Shame EVGA seem to have all but abandoned the UK market.

Assuming the Nvidia coolers work as intended, daft as this might sound, I think I prefer the 'stock' cooler approach over these....

I think the slightly slower 2 8 pin socket verision is preferable to having a 3x8 pin one and having a spare 8pin plug hanging around, making things look untidy.

So nothing to do with a certain deal they announced today and not wanting to miss a chance to generate good investor news twice?

Good photos of GeForce RTX 3090. Agree that the two-slot, 2x8pin 3090 is very interesting.

The sales are what will generate the noise. And the ARM deal has been done for a while. Hell it was done on the day ARM went up, nobody else was even slightly in contention for it it seems.

2x 8-pin is compatible with a 350W TDP (technically up to 375W, but you'll need a bit spare for the VRAM and VRM).

A 2-slot card will also probably work with the heat if you set the fans high enough - a cynic would call it a feint to make the top end card look better value

Re: EVGA shows off its GeForce RTX 3090 XC3 and FTW3 GPUs

That's an awful lot of heat to be dumping inside the case, I thought my ASUS ROG Strix 2080TI was bad enough, Makes my Kraken AIO pump make crackling/rattling noises as it spins up trying to exhaust the heat through top mounted radiator,Despite having 2x140 intakes and 4x140 exhausts.
Prefer the old blower style coolers I used to buy and never had an issue even with 980Ti's in SLI, But will be interesting to see how good the half blower style Nvidia 3000 FE cards are, If it's only dumping half of the 320w inside case then I can live with it as all the intake and exhaust fans can keep up with it.

Don't the FE cards dump more heat inside the case than these ones?

Re: EVGA shows off its GeForce RTX 3090 XC3 and FTW3 GPUs

Don't know until they release the benchmarks/reviews, Hopefully Gamers Nexus does a thermal review on Nvidia's own 3080/3090 vs AIB's 3080/3090.
I would think Nvidia's would be better if it's exhausting half the heat out the back instead of full amount into case like AIB's.
