How flow can you blow.
Looks like an updated version of my old Obsidian 450D High Airflow case.
I know you said you were nitpicking, but I find it odd that you'd mention it not having noise dampening features. Is that something we expect (or want) from a case? Those kinds of features often lead to a louder case in the end, especially if you have mid to high end parts, and most of them (other than maybe.... *maybe* actually sound absorbent panels on some of the interior surfaces) are absurd to expect in standard, relatively low cost case. Airflow and choice of parts like fans will have a much greater impact on noise, especially for this crowd.
Think I prefer my 500D, though a touch more front end ventilation wouldn't have been a bad thing.
Only a single front USB-A port on this new one does seem stingy..
3 pin fans included feels more than a niggle, I can't imagine not replacing them with 4 pin ones, which would push up costs considerably
shame you have used a publicity photo on the conclusion page with 4 RGB fans considering these are not included and you make a point of saying there is no RGB in the case as standard. Bit confusing.
Seems like an okay basic case otherwise.
i liked the picture with a 2 fan aio cooler installed in the case. i just bought and built in a case from CM which bragged about holding up to 280 2fans but there was no way it worked in practice. i might have gotten this a few months ago(or not). i had been looking for just this for my 2nd/3rd gen ryzen AMD build. i will use my old HAF922 for the next build as it is currently housing, with lots of room, my CM 240l and good but dated parts.
You really need to get some better cases reviewed. when the best case in your review for CPU temps is the appallingly hot NZXT510 then there is something wrong. For this case to not even beat one of those is pretty damming. I also do not believe it - the 400D actually has good airflow - it is basically a fractal meshify C with a different sticker on it - no way it can not beat an NZXT 520 if properly setup.
This case right here is going to be my new build
4000D Airflow Black
Only 2 things I wish it had though, a clear panel and 2cm internal height for top mount AIO for RGB Veng Pro Ram clearance, but still I’m getting it
