At first i was excited, but no mention of pen-enabled tech (wacom or ntrig) makes me sad.
AOC make some nice screens - however, the claimed brightness figure looks a little on the low side for an IPS panel - likely a compromise to eek out as much life as possible from that large in-built battery.
Also a real shame that the 1920x1200 screen ratio has fallen out of favour, as the extra vertical pixels make a lot of difference in the design & productivity scenarios that this screen seems to be targeting.
6-bit panel, shame.
AOC told me the battery life of this is approx 4 hours
Seems to be a lot of these on the market all the same sort of size.. I paranoid now that they all rebadges/re-skinned outers of the same base device lol looks a good £100 over priced though. A nice 24" would be nice :-)
Many of the cheaper ones out there lack the in-built battery - e.g. they're portable but usually have to draw power via USB-C (or sometimes via a pair of USB-A connectors).
Certainly a lot of choice in the mobile screen space - including options for gamers with high-refresh rates and FreeSync / G-Sync in some of the screens from the likes of GStory and Asus (deep pockets needed for the latter).
Does that really matter any more?
I recently bought my daughter a Viewsonic IPS panel which is 6bit+2frc for her to use for her digital art as the reviews said it was by far the best suited in price range for image editing, and even came with a colour calibration report.
I can't see any problems with the image vs the 10 bit Iiyama panel she was using before (which would have been perfect for her except she needs 1080p to match her Huion Kamas tablet).
Could be tempting ;-)
I guess the deciding factors are whether the screen is being bought exclusively to play games and whether the games each person is into supports a VR mode. Bit of a waste on C&C Remastered but great for Star Wars Squadrons and MS FlightSim 2020 (in the not too distant future).
Talking of C&C, are there any decent RTS games out there in VR? Trying to imaging whether it'd be immersive or frustrating.
