Soooo, 3090 and 3080 yields were poor, but fortunately, we've managed to push them through as 3070's?
Didn't think PC gaming was that much of a thing in Japan..
3070 and 3080/3090 don't use the same base die:
GA102 for 3080/3090
https://videocardz.com/newz/nvidia-g...-3090-pictured
GA104 for 3070 (likely 3060 as well)
https://videocardz.com/newz/nvidia-g...ture-ga104-gpu
So there does not appear to be an appropriate salvaging scheme for GA102 into a 3070 stack (maybe a ti?) (Edit: yet!)

Ahhh, didn’t know that..
Wonder what the real world difference will be between the 6 and 6x..
Or if the actual performance between the 3070 and 3080 will be given the difference between the 3080 and 3090...
but does it deliver?
Old puter - still good enuff till I save some pennies!
The 3090 doesn't use the full 102 die does it? There is scope for more range diversity, if Nvidia ever decide to make enough of anything. I have doubts they will, then release the Super / Ti versions and charge more than the RRP of the ones they didn't make many of.
Wait until TSMC have space, then see what Ampere can really do lol
