Can I have an early one please?
609/4746 vs 532/3819 for the 3600XT; Hexus got 4025 @ 4.5ghz all-core.
That's a big step!
I'm vying for a 5600X when the sale opens at 2pm on Thursday, this has just cemented it for me.
Hope it means I can get a cheaper Ryzen 7 3700X!
when is DDR5 and its supporting platforms suppose to come out? I am no way investing in DDR4 at this point.
Hard to say for sure, but new ram technology always comes out slower and more expensive than the outgoing mature technology.
when all those years ago AMD said that AM4 would be good until 2020, they probably expected DDR5 to already be a thing. It clearly isn't.
On the flip side, I don't really want to invest any more money in SATA SSDs (let alone spinning rust), so might upgrade my son's and wife's PCs which are still on old Xeon and AM3 boards respectively.
If you are buying a lot more than the usual 16GB of ram, I wouldn't be scared off investing about £70 on DDR4 sticks that can't be carried forward. Also, unless you are aiming to buy a machine with a lot of cores I wouldn't worry about needing DDR5 bandwidth.
