£400 is about where I am wanting to go for a GPU, as long as it'll hit whatever my new monitor does, 2650x1440@144hz, once the damned things come into stock, and we know what else AMD are planning...
If we haven't all died from a bad vaccine by then...
And I was hoping to spend no more than £300 on a graphics card for 2560x1440@144hz, guess that's still not possible!

I almost bought, but I held back. 1080 Ti is still a superb card, and at £270 I got a bargain. I chose to spend my money in a luxury case and premium cooling setup instead:

True, parts that should last me a good while. Hard to imagine how you can optimise space anymore to be honest, unless you go fully vertical like the P-ATX I mentioned previously.
It's a shame but it's a free market I guess. People are willing to buy it at that price so I'll just have to keep waiting if I don't want to join them.
I just thought with the consoles "promoting" and "pushing" to 4k120 now, the PC GPU department would have 1440p 144hz at a more affordable price.
Its not really that free as Nvidia and AMD are setting the price together. Best not to step on each other's toes too much - its more profitable that way. Sadly a lot of people "can't" miss out,so they are at their mercy so tech companies have them by the privates, and they know that.

1080 Ti at £270 is a really good price!
The classic Ncase M1 is beautiful.
I'm going to downsize to ITX at some point next year probably once a nice affordable vertical cuboid case comes out or I might just suck it up and grab a NZXT H1.
A few potential choices coming out...

You just have to choose your games and settings *really* carefully
Or the flip-side, there will always be games you can't hit a steady 144Hz with the settings turned up with any card. I don't find myself staring at the screen thinking "this sucks" despite my Vega 56 no longer appearing in any of the benchmark lists which is always a bad sign that replacement is nearing. When I do, I shall buy something twice as fast.
