Lavie is a joint venture between NEC and Lenovo but this is just a concept product for now.

Excellent choice of resolution but that's where it ends for me. As soon as I saw intel, it was game over.

    Interesting...
Not sure about the controllers being on a massive empty plate like that. Would be better if they were independent, for portability. Also depends what they're like in large hands, as they really design these for kids, I find.
Overall looks quite cool though (hopefully it'll come in black) and a good fun size screen!

If it runs games well enough, I might take a closer look!

It might be OK if the controllers fold into the middle for storage, or the plate slides or folds closed in some fashion.

Re: Lavie Mini 8-inch touchscreen gaming laptop revealed

If the controller hardware is any good, then I can see it being alright for streamed services like Stadia, Geforce Now, PS Now, but I don't see it running games particularly well on that hardware.

The biggest insult is those round keyboard keys, though.

Other than the obvious CPU power deficit compared to newer Ryzen mobile, what else makes it game over? I really prefer intel for light gaming especially emulation as it always seems to have better performance.
