That's not confusing at all...

If the word "New" was a child, I'd be calling protective services on Intel for how much abuse they're giving it.
Which bit, the differential between the i9 and i7? Seems odd they're all 8/16, I mean they could at least disable the hyperthreading on the i7 so the product stack is actually different in a meaningful way so they don't confuse consumers. Looking at that die space though, if the KF model has no graphics, why don't they make the redundant space more useful and add two more cores in there for 10/20? Instead of wasting silicon on useless graphics most people don't use at that level of CPU.
Plenty - the massive amount of SKU's, the will work on an older motherboard but the best bits need a 500 series motherboard. It's just sooooo reactive and late to the party it's unreal.
I just think it means I'm less likely to go Intel next time not more. Backported process to 14nm+++++++++++++++++++++++++++ it's just lazy to me

If you add VAT,that puts the 6C/12T Core i5 11600K at around £205. Even with a £30 CPU cooler, that means its massively cheaper than a Ryzen 5 5600X,and the B560/H570 motherboards also have access to PCI-E 4.0 AFAIK.
The Core i5 11400F works out around £140 and will have a cooler installed. This in theory should be quicker than a Ryzen 5 3600.
Not too bad on the pricing, at least they're still pretty competitive up to the 11700k assuming it ends up around £350 after VAT. Near 5800X performance for near 5800X price but with the benefit of AVX-512 if you need it and without the current X570 issues a lot of people (including myself) are experiencing.
If I could currently buy a 5950X and a decent motherboard / RAM I'd probably switch to AMD without even giving these a second thought. The segmentation from Intel is frustrating, as well as the lack of motherboard and chipset compatibility for new processors. Ideally Intel needs to start taking a long look at that last part, because while these may come in "cheaper" than AMD equivalent CPUs, they hurt themselves by not having platform consistency and just being able to drop in an upgrade and use a majority of the features. The only trouble AMD had was switching between PCIe 3.0 to 4.0 afaik? So why can't Intel with all of their resources replicate that?
Also 14nm+++++++++++ really is starting to hurt them.
Prices seem to be largely in line with 10th gen, and with the exception of the very high end, that should be decent value. We still have to wait for more performance results (beyond what Anandtech provided), but it seems from that review that Rocket Lake is a decent upgrade over Comet Lake for at least a few tasks (gaming wasn't one of them), and since it's still cheaper than AMD's lineup, it could be a decent value choice.
Well TBF,the Core i5 10600K is under £200,so even that makes the Ryzen 5 5600X a slightly tougher sell.
That is the Core i5 11600K which has an IGP,which Scan has at £250 now. The Core i5 11600KF seems to be around £230,which is around 10% higher than I expected(but comes with a copy of Hitman 3):

The Core i5 11400F seems to be around which is £10 more than I expected too:

But I suspect a Core i5 11400F,with a B560 motherboard should work to be quite decent value.
Edit!!
It seems all of the Core i5 CPUs come with Hitman 3.
$539 for an 8-core toaster that can barely match a 5800X? Intel is delusional.
What I want to know is do the 65W and 35W CPUs actually obey their TDP. The 11700K does not (150W - 290W, depending on the instructions used, according to AnandTech's review). If the lower-wattage parts do stay within their thermal (and thus acoustic) limits, they might be worth something.
In all likelihood I'd still buy AMD... but it would be nice to know Intel's specs mean something on the lower tier parts.
