People seem to be so short sighted and it horrifies me, think about some of the things we say and do now, in 50 or 100 years time they might be outlawed or frowned upon. This is exactly what has happened with attitudes from his time to these days, human attitudes and what we deem to be right or wrong are constantly changing.
I couldn't because that would be a blatant lie. For example, so many of these "anti-racists" were quick to jump the gun on the Colorado shooting and blame it on "white supremacy" because it's currently trendy to blame everything on whiteness. I would like to know what non white majority country the UK and US should strive more to be like. Are some people still racist? Yes. Are there improvements to be made? Also yes. Is there a growing trend that encourages revenge over even petty reasons rather than simply justice? Yes. Doesn't change the fact that plenty are choosing the USA and UK as their destination.
Besides, I'd like to point out that nothing before your comment was even related to race. This goes to show how successful certain people are to train your mind into a certain way of thinking. One that seems to encourage more division than unity. One that weaponizes tragedy.
The only symptom of cancel culture would be the need of the privileged to feel part of something, speaking on behalf of others, and projecting their own issues because people with mental issues have no idea how to cope. Cancel culture is about bringing others down rather than empowering others and bringing them up. You will get things blown way out of proportion eg Mr potato head, but then you have people that are doxed, banned from events, fired, or jailed for lacking political correctness.
People: coming into a thread about Alan Turing being on the cover of the £50 to complain about cancel culture is not a good look. Nor is defending white supremacy. Even if the attack is nothing to do with what's been said before, there's no good that can come out of it.
Cancel culture isn't real anyway, it's just a term made up by right-wing media magnates to describe the process of 'choosing to whom you want to listen'. They'd like it such that we're always forced to hear what they have to say. They don't want free speech for all, they want free speech for themselves and freedom from the consequences.
Isn't the £50 note the one no one uses? Think I've seen it only a couple of times.

So I went exploring and found the history of our banknotes interesting: https://www.bankofengland.co.uk/bank...rawn-banknotes
@wazzickle yeah, think when I saw and used it was when I needed to get some cash out from the bank cashier.
