Azza Overdrive Falcon Wing case aimed at PC petrol heads

$599 case is massive, but has great capacity, is LCS friendly, and it will be noticed.

It'll make a mighty fine dust trap.

Don't think I know any petrol heads that would want one.

I mean, it's hardly penned by Giugiaro is it.

Re: Azza Overdrive Falcon Wing case aimed at PC petrol heads

Didn't JayzTwoCents recently do a build just like this one?
ISTR he took a lightweight plastic 3D model of an engine block and bored out the space for all the components, with the rads in a similar layout to this.

Dust not a problem as you should be regularly dusting your PC out anyway, and there are plenty of open style cases that are popular.

Have to say, I like the concept. Looks like you can get 4 x 360 rads on there, and if those can do Push-Pull, I'd be absolutely delighted. It's one of the few times I can see RGB fans actually working for the design, though it'd still need additional illumination to complete the setup.

I'd certainly want to tweak the aesthetics quite a bit, and for that kind of money I'd expect a number of customisation options.

These kind of gadgets I do find fun... and even with lightning in.. it is something different than a stupid case with random idiotic RGB lightning in that really serve no proper point.

Can I get it in V8 or V12 as well and maybe an oil cooled block too?

That's always my first thought when i see these open air cases, just having to dust this little black box next to my feet is enough of a PITA for me, let alone having to clean the dust filters every now and again.

Re: Azza Overdrive Falcon Wing case aimed at PC petrol heads

I mean, for a case to cost nearly as much as a 3080 is utterly absurd, but I quite like the aesthetics of it. At least it's something different from the usual cuboid, and as QuorTek says, it's not festooned with gratuitous RGB lighting either - which is a plus, IMO.

If anyone is hesitatating to watch the video, in case they haven't overlaid a load of engine revving noises, you won't be disappointed.

I watched that video.... it's JUST a case! What makes it worth $600? It seemed to be missing some gold/diamond/platinum and other bling to "justify" this over-price! Well, guess if you got nothing better to do with that cash...

It does make the current crop of graphics cards seem quite good value by comparison.........even at their crazy scalper prices

    Overdrive is priced at US$599.99
I mean I've spent £300 on a case before now (Lian-Li). Not seeing how this is worth $600? Design is niche as you really have to like open cases.

Re: Azza Overdrive Falcon Wing case aimed at PC petrol heads

That is quite frankly the most disgusting piece of PC kit of any variety that I could possibly imagine, let alone have ever seen. If they send in a test sample, I'm guessing it won't just burn in a regular oven, you'll have to send it to a Terminator-style molten lava death, which would be too good for it.

Niche design, smaller intended market, specialist interest, and all the other factors that make cases like this so expensive.

Look at the InWin Diéy, for example, or any of their other weird offerings... and then check the flippin' price tags!!
Same for some of Lian Li's stuff, not forgetting how expensive Caselabs stuff was...

Then go look at what it costs to have a single custom scratch-built PC case made up - several companies offer this service, but even their basic square cases that are no different to a £60 entry level one will cost more than the highest spec case at your favourite internet retailer. Custom stuff with unique designs costs a lot more.
