The gaming monitor space is getting pretty crowded right now. This can only be good for prices and quality, I'd imagine.

I'm looking for to this release, hopefully DisplayHDR 1000 will become the normal at the minimum for higher tier monitors going into the future

This OLED feature seems fun. Could imagine myself using it. So yeah this might be the monitor endgame but as fast as monitor standards are changing this one will be outdated in probably 18-24 months. And dont get me started on the price tag.

"We weren't given a UK price for this monitor, said to be available from May. However, we have seen US etailer pre-orders at $2,999"

It shouldn't be a penny over £2500 at current exchange rates, even taking 20% VAT into account...but it won't be of course, so conditioned have UK buyers become to being ripped off with a £1 = $1 currency conversion over the last 4-5yrs, that I doubt it will cost much less than £3K.

16:10 or no purchase until my current dell 24 dies. Wider is stupid on monitors unless you're on spreadsheets all day. Nobody I know watches movies on PC's (or mobile). Anyone that makes a 16:10 with gsync will sell it out 100%. Easy money, and all won't mind paying a premium to get it as NONE of us wanted 16:9 etc, you never asked us.

I watch movies on both my laptop and PC. Ultrawide (and curved) is popular amongst gamers because some games play well on them. People on spreadsheets all day are more likely to go for a multi-monitor setup.

All other things being equal. Which of course, they're not.

Honestly it shouldn't be a penny over £1300. I'd rather get a Samsung G9 if I'm going into that price territory.

Re: Asus ROG Swift PG32UQX 4K mini LED monitor due in May

    Kitguru reviewed it:
    https://www.kitguru.net/peripherals/...hz-w-hdr-1400/

Basically it does not support HDMI 2.1,as the GSync monitors don't support it currently. This also means adaptive sync won't work with AMD GPUs as its GSync.

G-Sync modules only go to 2.0, unless Nvidia decide to update them. Slightly surprised that this isn't Freesync compatible though.
