Pimax VR already offers more for the same price, but they have terrible quality checking and support.
I would really love a high-end headset with 2 4K OLED or micro LED displays, 90hz and wide-fov lenses.
Wouldn't even mind paying $2k for it.
But never again directly from a Chinese manufacturer.

So £1200 for a vive or facebook... I'd love VR but not at that cost! Keep hoping prices will drop but they never do (unless you like facebook )
    Trust

I was hunting for HP reverb G2 for some time, but it was not available at all. I am very tempted to buy something and 120 + 120Hz + 5k display is very tempting but the price... i would be considering the full package for 1100$ at most.

It's 1300, you were tricked by these 99 manipulations.

Re: HTC announces the Vive Pro 2 PC VR headset

Price will never fall unless they become a volume product and VR has definitely not done that. Even a new Half Life hasn't sent it mainstream.

There only seems to be one market selling VR products that is getting bigger currently although interestingly it is the same market that saw VHS win its format war in the 80s.

Re: HTC announces the Vive Pro 2 PC VR headset

The Vive Pro 2 does kinda look tempting.

HTC Vive: 1080x1200 res per eye at 90Hz with a 110 degree FOV.
HTC Vive Pro 2: 2448x2448 res per eye at 120Hz with a 120 degree FOV.

The Pro 2 has double the pixel density even taking the greater FOV into account. On the downside, index knuckles like controllers would have been great but HTC is still stuck with its controller design from 2016. Why wands, still...?

I maybe misreading your comment, do you mean HTC with the Vive or do you mean VR in general? As the Quest 2 is dirt cheap and is selling extremely well which is really striving to make VR mainstream and looks set on achieving this.

Happy with my quest 2 its sufficiently better than the CV1 rift and vive along with being standalone (its quite impressive for the hardware to be honest!), now that 120hz mode is a thing I find little I miss from the Index considering its price, the only pro was the headphones and wider FOV (not a huge amount in my opinion).

It needs to be much higher FOV (closer to pimax but without distortion) to be worth any real money expecially when you can buy a quest 2 + high end GPU (even at the inflated prices perhaps) for similar money
