    Asus launches the Zenfone 8 and Zenfone 8 Flip

    The former is a 5.9-inch compact flagship, the latter a 6.67-inch model with flip-over camera.

    A sub 6" phone being releases in 2021! Here's hoping others follow the trend and we get some cheaper ones coming through.

    There are some significant compromises. Anandtech has a pretty comprehensive preview. This won't be a trendsetter, I'm afraid.

    EDIT - 3.5mm jack makes a partial return!

    I like nearly everything about the 8 (if talking about the 256gb version), my only concern is Asus have a poor reputation for providing updates

    Camera looks like it might be a significant issue, although whether that is a problem depends on people's use case. Myself, when I'm spending this much on a phone, it has to ecompass the budget I'd normally put into a compact camera.
