    Samsung readying 24Gb DDR5 ICs - 768GB DIMMs on the way

    And Samsung has said it is increasing foundry prices to support its 5nm EUV development.

    That new DDR5 density is pretty impressive. Price tag might be crazy too.

    The writing has been on the wall for a while. All raw materials are getting more and more expensive.

    In Linus' talk about the 6600XT, he does a reasonably thorough breakdown in where all the cost increases are coming from, it's pretty galling.

    Henry ford hated banks. After years of lowering prices of the model T, he needed cash for a new factory for a new model, so he increased prices to pay for it.

    DDr5 is looking like it could potentially lead to itx boards with a pretty high memory caacity in just two sockets (64GB? 128GB?). That and the potential speed increases pci-e 5 ssds could at some point offer is quite impressive.
