My first 3d card, the Videologic Apocalypse 3dx - there's been no one thing that revolutionised gaming that come close to the transition from no 3d-card to 3d-card

Either my first hard drive (40MB was a lot in those days) or my first 14400 baud modem.

Toward the end of my time using a conventional mouse, mouse use was causing me more and more wrist pain. Switching to a vertical mouse made such a difference, i.e. no pain at all, that my first Evoluent vertical mouse has to be my favourite device.

Probably my Logitach MX Air mouse. It can be used as both a normal or gyroscopic mouse, or like a Wii remote. Perfect for my HTPC. Pretty happy I still have it as I remain disappointed that there Logitech never made a 2nd version that would work with their unifying receiver.

My first 300 baud modem - a whole new world opened up. followed by a super HUGE 10 MB hard drive and cannot forget the NEC monitors that came out shortly thereafter.

I feel like this is looping now, haven't we been here before ?

But yeah the 3Dfx card paired with a Matrox millennium 4MB and around the same time my Soundblaster AWE 32 Gold.
Okay the 600 MB GVP external hard-drive for my Amiga 500 was also pretty nice, not least as most of the guys was cycling disks, only i and another guy had hard-disks on our Amiga.
