160MHs, for over 4k, you can do more than that with a pair of 3080's for less than £1400, who are they expecting will really buy this thing...
If you're looking at ROI, the power target coupled with the hashrate is probably what makes it attractive - 3080s are rated at 320W each.
Good luck grabbing a pair of 3080s for less than £1400, too. FE drops are few and far between and one per household policies seem to be a thing all over, so you'll have to jump through a few hoops to grab a second one, in the unlikely event you can find another.
I said it when they released the limited cards, this was a likelihood.
Nvidia are shady as......

These are designed for purpose which means they are more efficient, they are designed to be rack mounted in a data centre style setup, they are designed to run flat out 24-7, and you can bulk order 100's of them. Would be a no brainer to a professional setup.
At this point i think Nvidia's MSRP was nothing more than a fantasy, bait and switch, loss leader or whatever you want to call it. Yes you can still buy a graphics card directly from them for that price but those are few and far between and IMO are only a thing so they can keep up the pre-tense that the launch MSRP is still a thing and that they've not jacked up the prices they're changing AIB's massively. (AIB's being charged far more than initial prices is something I've picked up from off hand comments from various sources).
"In a perfect world... spammers would get caught, go to jail, and share a cell with many men who have enlarged their penises, taken Viagra and are looking for a new relationship."
would be a good deal on the power target, also a possible way of making gamer cards less attractive, as competetion for the bigger companies... sooner or later the bubble will burst, and with the lack of power driving the prices up, it is not so attractive to have loads of powerhungry GFX cards around.
More of this, please, with lower price-finally there is something for miners that doesn't work for gamers.
Such a "short sighted" thing to be doing. Aren't we supposed to be using as little energy as possible to reduce the rate at which this little ole planet we live on from warming up too much?
I, for one, think any crypto mining is a waste of electrons.
I don't disagree but good luck legislating to prevent or restrict it, democracies take ages to do anything, dictatorships like China tend to get things done quickly but there's a few downsides to them and I'm not sure how much of an effect China's ban on crypto has had (i would guess people still mine in China).
