SAPPHIRE Radeon X800 GTO² 256MB PCIe

Evaluated as a purely default card, the SAPPHIRE X800 GTO² 256MB doesn't make a whole lot of sense. It's priced at around £20 above a number of X800 GTOs that offer the same out-of-the-box performance. However, with a BIOS flash and some sensible overclocking, £150, the asking price for the retail version which includes both SAPPHIRE's TriXX utility and the choice of a top gaming title, begins to look very cheap indeed. Highly recommended to those not averse to a little tinkering.

What is with the big difference between UK and US prices? newegg have it for $199/£112, yet here it's £128-£134 +VAT.

Looks nice, only for the enthusiast who can't afford much though.

    You have a few choices:

    Tekheads: http://www.tekheads.co.uk/s/product?product=605103
    Microdirect: http://www.microdirect.co.uk/Product...0717&GroupID=0
Overclockers: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatal...CI_Series.html (third up from the bottom)

I recomend Tekheads over the others. They are being released on the 4th if I recall, 2 days before the big Ati X1XXX series release.

Yeah that's what I'm waiting on, not quite sure yet though. Likely to be a 7800GT or a X1800XL, maybe a GTO2 if I'm low on cash at the time.

Overclockers.co.uk have the retail version in stock and on the 'this week only' offers (ie it's at the normal UK price for a week before the overclockers premium kicks in ).

A price difference between us and the states of only 16 pounds on a ~130 pound product is nothing - especially when you consider the vast difference in market size.
