Tiny, tapeless $800 Sanyo HD camcorder

We all managed to miss one of the most intriguing products shown at the recent Las Vegas CES - Sanyo's wonderfully-named Xacti HD1 tapeless high-def camcorder. Mind you, the camcorder is so titchy small that it's a bit of a surprise anyone at all spotted it.

Sanyo describes the $800 product as, "The world’s smallest and lightest high-definition digital media camera". We think the company might be right.

More here including a larger-than-lifesize pic ot the HD1.

I spotted this on Engadget a couple of weeks ago in their CES coverage. It's a very very interesting camcorder

Edit: I didn't realise you could take stils and film at the same time, now that is cool. Would be very tempting to replace my Sony P10 camera with this for a general pocket camera with the added ability to take hi def video. yummy!
