Slender, stylish Sony Ericsson K610 gives 3G mass appeal

3GSM Congress, Barcelona, 13th Feb 2006 – Sony Ericsson today announces the K610, a slim, lightweight and affordable UMTS imaging phone that opens up the world of 3G for a much wider population.

Just 17mm thick and weighing 92 grams, the K610 is the size and weight of a typical 2G stick phone and will be one of the smallest and lightest 3G phones to come on the market.

It packs into its slender frame a suite of advanced communications, business and entertainment applications plus a 2 Megapixel camera, Memory Stick removable storage and Bluetooth connectivity.

The K610’s pure lines combine with a solid, quality feel to make it a pleasure to hold and use. It is also incredibly practical and easy to use, with bright illumination plus large keypad and 262K colour display.

SE are certainly making some nice 3G phones, their last one was way better looking than the other offerings and this is certainly spot on looks wise.

Does look nice, if a bit of a Motorola L6/7 SLVR ripoff in the looks department. I will be waiting for the K800 or the W900, or even one of the rumoured HDD phones that are in development for release later this year.

i love my SE phones, but i'm a bit bummed at their MemoryStick Micro choice. I guess it is inevitable, but it does mean my 512mb and 1gig Duo cars will be redundant.

Heres hopping the HDD phones make it to market

SE continue to bring out some fantastic phones, the K750i & W800i were in my opinion ground breaking at the time of their release, the first step toward a phone-sized device that does everything.

I think as technology continues to advance it will reach the stage where there's only a need for one device that caters for all your digital needs :-).
