There was an error in the system.

Apparently it was somewhere between the chair and the keyboard...

    All fixed now!

Can I just ask about your closing statement? 'TOCA Race Driver 3 is almost every other track based racer ever made…'

That sounds like a bad thing but you seemed to be fond of the game.

How does the driving feel compared to toca RD2?

I quite liked RD2, but ultimately the thing that put me off was that there was no sensation of grip at all - I'm just using a dual analogue pad so I'm not expecting FF steering wheel stuff, but the way the cars responded to changes in direction in RD2 made it feel like they were basically slipping all the time. Also things like elevation changes in the track made the cars do weird things - the engine would sometimes just stick at low revs if you went over a bump while deccelerating for eg.

If the cars feel a bit more connected to the road then I'll probably buy this

Don't know if anyone will be able to answer this, how well do you think this will run on lower spec'd machines? The original Toca2 was great on low end systems.

Ok i have been playing this game for a day and i am enjoying it, but it's not all it's cracked up to be.

The biggest let down for me is the graphics. Not the most important aspect of a game i hear you say, but the graphics are not what they should be for a 2006 game, especially a racer. Even GTR, which has been for over a year, 'feels' much more real graphics wise, even if it does not have the slightly more advanced shading. Nothing like those B*** S*** photoshop-tastic screenshots Codemasters put out.

After the flat crowd ala Pit Stop on the Commodore 64, by far the worst aspect is the weather effects. The rain looks awful, yet 2-3 years ago code masters put some of the best weather effects i have seen into Colin McRae.

Then there are the cut scene's. OMG, how crap are they? They look like a 4 year old PS2 game. But then maybe that’s the point - they are using the same cut scene's over all the platforms, including the PS2 etc. Lazy Codemasters.

Gameplay wise, it's ok. A bit better than TRD2, although the rally is utterly pathetic compared to the likes of McRae and Richard Burns. In fact it's just pathetic full stop - 'Arcady' does not come close.

The AI is ok, if rather boring. Nothing special and does not make enough errors, even when you smash into them, which should send them flying of the track.

Also, is there anyway to kill that bloody annoying Jock? Apart from being a complete tit, i crashed into the wall at 200+ MPH, the car exploded and both wheels flew off. What did he say? "I think you have a problem with your suspension son", lol.

Overall it's a decent enough game. Quite fun, but once you get over the "wow, look at all the cars i can drive", it will be back to GTR, Richard Burns and the like, for some proper racing for most people. This is a console game at heart.

If i had to score it, i would give it a 7.5/10.

Still, how much fun (albiet completely unrealistic) are those Formula * cars?

Well the AI, or should i say the stupid scottish ****, is REALLY starting to spoil this game for me.

    Classic line's include...

After you don't brake for a corner, smash at 200 MPH into the back of another car and fly of the track into a wall - "Great overtaking!"

Virtually every time you cross the finishing line and have won the race - "Keep driving like that and you could win this race". Eh?

After flipping a Formula BMW onto it's roof - "Be carfull, driving like that will make your tyres cold" Oh well, atleast that one made smile, lol.

Not only that, but he repeats the same nonsense over and over during a race, in a really patronising voice. I wish he would shut up and let me get on with racing.
