I'm not likely to ever really want a DS, but i have to say i have always thought the dual and touch screen is made for a quality bit of top down RTS action.
You should try Metroid Prime Hunters on it... at last I can play an FPS on a console!
(You use the touchscreen for looking around, so it's just like using a mouse...)

Yup, i'll second how easy Metroid is to use. It [Panzer Tactics] looks vaguely like an advance wars style thing with much better graphics. The number of units sounds quite astonishing. But i'm looking forward to AoE when it comes out
