i can see this advert causing trouble tbh - although as its a women holding a man i guess it wont be classed as racist, if it was the other way round all hell would break loose

That is pretty shocking I have to agree. Yeah, its advertising the new PSP white but I feel it is going a bit far in what it looks like it is saying.
Wonder if they will do a follow ad pushing the origional PSP with the roles reversed ? Really makes you wonder.
Mind you if you look on the site you gave the link for it has a few more shots that make it look a bit more reasonable. I think it may just be shots from a TV ad but a bad still image selection has been used for billboards.

I think its meant to cause a fuss, more people talking about it that way.
Sony adverts have been getting odder and odder, but more and more people are looking at them. So the tactic is working I guess
Bad taste is almost always good advertising.
The whole point is to make people over react and it seems to be working
got your attention
I thought it was quite a good add TBH
your sense of political correctness has been thoroughly ruffled eh
oh, the things I could say without blinking an eyelid
SmoothNuts!~yaman_an@*.dsl.pipex.com > change my rating to exceptional tbh
nothing racist about it in the slightest. its not saying anything about either race of people. i hate it when people react to something, just because its what they think they should do
hughlunnon@yahoo.com | I have sigs turned off..
I think it is racist, solely because they're emphasising a white person over a black person to promote a white coloured product.
If the ad wasn't for PSP White, then fair enough, it would just be two people on a picture. But the fact that they're emphasising 'White is coming' with the black person being held at the neck....somethings just not right.
See, this is the problem. Someone complains about something being racist and they immediately get slagged off for being 'over sensitive' or 'politically correct'. Just because someone's offended by something they consider to be racist doesn't automatically mean they're a wooly jumpered shandy-drinking liberal. Then of course you get the other problem with the other people worried that they've been considered racist, when they usually aren't.
It's naive to assume that it's 'just two people' in the advert. The skin colour aspect has obviously been created to create controversy, but they've pushed it too far in my opinion. Racism is already a sticky subject without corporations utilising a sensitive situation to shift units.

OMG one of them is black!
racism is certainly not acceptable but to portray a black person as black and a white person as white then whats the issue? they are what they are.
Is the outrage because the white person is standing over the the black person? how about you link the other picture of the black person standing over the white person? I CRY RACISM! OUTRAGE!
peoples response to supposed racism, sexism and all the other isms is absolutely pathetic. Get a grip and call it what it is.
Additional - one thing I think should be added to the Hexus story to make it a bit more impartial is that there are more ads with different aspects here:
http://pspupdates.qj.net/Another-Unc...g/49/aid/57882
To some, it might make it better, but for me, it doesn't make it better. For me, it's not the fact that it looked like one person being attacked by another, it's the fact that they are using racial differences to hawk a product. Black and white PSP, black and white person. If you reckon that's just a coincidence, I call bull****.
It doesn't make a difference to me which person is being 'repressed' or 'attacked'. It's because they're using a serious subject such as this in such an insensitive manner. I can sometimes have a tasteless sense of humour, I'm not generally offended by a lot of poor taste jokes, but like it or not, there IS a line. There IS a limit to what should be done.
