It is a review of the MVP yet you talk about the SLI as if it is the board being evaluated in both the first and last paragraphs.

Shouldn't it be the MVP? or is it too late and i am just going mad?
Nope, you're quite right Kamakazie, that's a mistake that shouldn't have slipped in there. It doesn't help that ASUS has a board called the M2N32-SLI that I've also been writing up recently.

Just wanted to let you guys know that I'd really recommand NOT buying this board if you intend to run Vista. Just built a brand new comp, and it seems the SB600 chipset doesn't work well with Vista. Computer is extremely sluggish (takes about 15mins to boot completely). Check out support.microsoft.com/kb/931369

I have had M2R32-MVP for 2 months now and had nothing but trouble.
I have:
AMD 4600 Dual Core
1Gig 6400 DDR2 Giel Ram
2x 250Gig sata2 Western Digital HD
HIS X1650 Pro
OS XP Pro
The system bios was updated to 0804 and the system has huge problems. The system offen does not boot Bois and I am continually powering off and on. When system does boot the motherboard loose graphics card in middle of operation the hds error constantly
I would not recommend this board even if last available too many issues.
If any one has any ideas let me know other than that I am looking another board.
As Renegade stated, BIOS rev 804 fixes the Vista unbearable sluggishness, but it remains an extremely crappy board. I can't get Linux to run properly on it (as of kernel 2.6.21.3174 Fedora flavor).
For anyone who is interested the ASUS M2R32-MVP will take (accommodate) a Radeon 3870 x2 PowerColor (Generic ATI) the North Bridge heat sink doesn't touch it by at least 2mm, which if you look at a ruler is quite a space for electrical insulation, the plastic backing on the 3870 x2 offers further protection as it covers the PCB nearest the North Bridge heat sink.
