Thinking about getting one of these as the second card for SLi. Working on the theory that the VF900's fan will keep them both plenty cool.
Then again I'll most likely just buy one and stick a another huge HSF fan on it. you said the passive cooling limited the over-clocking a bit, how high did you manage?
This is just what iv been waiting for to add to a HTPC, fast silent gfx card, if only ati had a silent x1950.
Asus A8N32-SLi Deluxe,
2GB OCZ EL DDR PC-3200 Dual Channel Platinum,
SAPPHIRE RADEON X1900 XTX 512MB PCI EXPRESS,
AMD ATHLON 64 3500+ VENICE 90NM,
SEAGATE SERIAL SATA BARRACUDA 7200.7 200GB,
THERMALTAKE KANDALF SILVER WINDOW
CREATIVE X-FI ELITE PRO
2X 320GB Maxtor 7200rpm drives RAID 0

LOL.
Wait a week or so - there should be an ultimate x1950 from sapphire soonish. It's not totally silent, but it's mostly passive with a backup slow spining fan (judging from their previous ultimate releases).
Great card. The fact that the HS is small enough to allow SLI configs is a real boon too.
You guys did physics and maths in some kind of secondary school right? Didn't they teach you how to make a graph? Yea of course they did, cos i've seen you do it, this is a graph:
This is horrible:
To err is human. To really foul things up ... you need a computer.
Still, it's an improvement over this nonsense:
To err is human. To really foul things up ... you need a computer.
