I'm really looking forward to Virtua Tennis 3. Top Spin 2 was so much fun to play on Xbox Live, I hope this offers more of the same.
Stewart, an update on the PS3 version for you:
Source: GamasutraIn speaking with a Sega representative, the company confirmed that online support will be specific to the Xbox 360, while the PlayStation 3 version will include added support for the PS3 controller's tilt functionality in lieu of being able to play online. Both versions, however, will include support for 1080p resolution.
“What we really wanted to do was focus on making each version unique,” commented a Sega representative, “and so with the Xbox Live features and the SIXAXIS tilt functionality, we think that each version will offer players an unique experience.”
Both versions are unique in their own way.

Instead of getting a Ferarri, im going to get a Fiesta. It isnt as fast but it does have doors.
oh my god. please, someone come out and say that the PS3 version isnt the retarded member of the family.. because it is
EDIT: are we sure this is accurate? its beyond belief.

I don't think it's much of a surprise, it's common knowledge to most of us web reading online folk that the PS3's online facilities aren't up to scratch. It's been well documented and it's always been presumed that some of the launch titles may completely lack online play.
It's just something to put up with for now, the Playstation Network will surely get better over time and online games should become the norm by the end of the year I'd say.
Saying that, I personally don't believe that the Playstation Network will ever reach the standards of Xbox Live. Being the loner that I am, I have more online friends than real life friends (how said am I!) and online gaming is a must for me therefore Xbox Live is my platform of choice.
Going back to Virtua Tennis, does anybody know if online doubles is supported with 4 different players? On Top Spin 2 you could play doubles but it would be 2 people on your 360 and 2 people on the other 360. I had some amazing matches when my brother in law was round (us two against 2 others) and I'm hoping Virtua Tennis has more of that. It'd be even better if it could be 4 people on 4 different 360s.
