    Samsung settles DRAM price-fixing lawsuit

Samsung will pay $90m to bring to an end lawsuits brought against it by 41 US states as a result of its role in a worldwide DRAM price-fixing cartel. It will also aid the plaintiffs in ongoing legal action against its co-conspirators.

Is this why some ram prices have started to drop fast, or is it just a coincidence?

I had also just noticed that RAM had dropped in price, as I am after some DDR [1] to try to load up the boxes I have that use it with good fast stuff, (while there is any left ) and was shocked to see the price had dropped thru the floor since I got some for a new build a few months ago.

Lets hope that its the sign of things to come.

Well, it allegedely took place between 1999 and 2002 according to the article. So I shouldn't think it would affect present prices.

Although you never know, they might still be at it.
