    Nokia N70 Dilemma

Story is. My phone is being really laggy taking 3-4 seconds to open the messages menu, so i tried updating the software with "Nokia Software Updater" which i got from the site.

Followed all the instructions and started it all, after 3-4 minutes the bar on the display telling how much is done was stuck in the same place, then i heard the usb disconnect noise.

Took my phone off and now it wont power up at all. Tried recovering it with the software but nothing is happening. Does anyone have any ideas? This is the 2nd phone since wednesday night that has broke on me. First was a W850i

im pretty sure you have just bricked the phone. the nokia updater takes ages and makes the usb disconnect noise a few times you should have left it the updater was stuck on 74% for about 10 mins when it was updating

Yeah, i thought it had disconnected as the screen went blank.

I've found a guy in london who can fix it for £20. MobilephoneKing or something. Apparently its a common problem (phones going dead after flashing) Been reading up about it, and it seem's like it can be fixed.

not that i know of you need a funtioning phone to update.
most likly what the person london will do if he can is dump the binary file to the flash on the phone.

Nope. It just tells me to disconnect the battery and charger and then re-insert them and click retry. After i've clicked retry it does it all again.
