    SE K810i UK Release Date?

Im with o2 at the minute and have a SE W810i. I am eligible for an upgrade on 15th May.

Ive been looking at the K810i on the net, does anyone know when its available in the UK? I heard Q2 2007, but is there a more specific date?

Anyone got any more suggestions? Im also considering the W880i.

Samsungs are a no go, because they cant do ring and vibrate at the same time - god knows why not. Ive also heard bad things about LGs new menu system and roller on the Shine.

Damn it, I just upgraded to the K800i. If I knew that there was a new version of that phone coming out I'd have waited!

I don't mind the new styling, but I wouldn't say it is much of an improvement on the k800i.

Oh dear. The k800i buttons are a little too small for my liking, those look ridiculous

K810i then is basically a K800i in a nice shiny case but with a terrible keypad?

Yeah I saw a pic after I'd posted. The K800i buttons are a little small, I do prefer the K800i's styling over the k810. It just looks a bit silly.

The actual buttons are small, but i don't think the area given to the keypad is any less than the K800. Given that each button is also raised, it would be interesting to give it a go, it might turn out to be easiet to use.

I had a look at the specs on the SE site, and it looks like it is functionally identical to the K800, just thinner and with a different case. It may well be a faster phone and the camera sensor might be better (being a newer model) but we won't know that until reviews hit or people get their hands on one.

SE seems to be playing with buttons these days. Not for the best IMHO. I am not huge on the buttons of the W880i, K810i and the alleged K850i. Actually, I don't mind the look that much, even those round one, but they might be slightly less functinally convenient. Still, I do not have particularly big hands, so it might not be a big deal for me. Regarding the date, I heard that the K810i is coming out in May. On a side note, the K810i is also thinner than the K800i, for me, that's a plus.

Those buttons are damned ugly. I'd give it two weeks before it breaks, too.

Has anyone got anything to say regarding a release date? Everyone just seems to be commenting on the phones design.

The onkly info I can find says that its due for release on May 2007.

Thats probably as close an estimate as you are going to get. But don't be surprised if it slips to June or July. Although having said that, May is a pretty common release month for SE.

Yeah, Im not holdaing my breath that it'll be released in May. Im also looking at the Samsung u600 and the LG Prada. Gonna go into the shop and have a play with them first.

I'd go for the Samsung without hesitation, but why oh why cant you have ring AND vibrate on at the same time on Samsung phones!?! Its either vibrate and no ring or ring and no vibrate - ridiculous.

Does anyone else know why the hell they dont ring/vibe at same time, as Samsung make some nice phones.

Rec0il - Ive just found out that the u600 does allow ring and vibrate at the same time! It must be one of, if not the first Samsung phone to do it.

The most popular Samsung phones: D500, D600, D840, D900, E900 all dont support it.

There seem to be unofficial firmware updates for the phones above which enable ring and vibrate, but Im not sure I would trust them not the kill the phone.

It seems that Samsung has now become a viable option for me. The u600 will get serious consideration now.

Now that is interesting... I will have to go to the phone-shop and thoroughly test the u600.

previous ways to make samsung phones vibe/ring without using special firmware is to use that chinese ring tone make proggie, that converts the tone so i makes the phone vibe aswell.

sorry cant be more specific. But it did work when i had my d600 . only got that phon cus it supported pdfs.
